About Alvin

Alvin has more than 10 years of experience teaching swimming. He is an SSI Swimming Instructor Trainer: a role that goes beyond teaching learners to training and certifying swimming instructors. The guides are published with Swim2u Swim School, whose credentials are listed on our about page.

How Alvin writes the guides

Each guide is written from how lessons actually run: what happens in a first class, how learners progress, and the questions parents and adult beginners ask before they start. Facts about SwimSafer, public pools and water safety are checked against official sources such as Sport Singapore and the World Health Organization, and each guide lists the sources it relies on. Guides follow our editorial policy: no invented prices, timetables or reviews, and no guarantees about how fast someone will learn.
